Adobe Photoshop CC 2020 is the biggest name in photo editing, and for good reason. It offers various sets of tools for image creation, manipulation, and enhancement and is used by a good chunk of all creative professionals the world over.
One of the best things about Photoshop CC is that it supports every file imaginable, including PDF, PICT, TIFF, and PNG. You can easily convert your files into other formats that are more compatible with friends’ or editors’ viewing programs. You can also choose to save images in a file that is compatible with Facebook and upload them to the site straight from the Photoshop CC program.
Creating Artwork
Here is an example of something you can do with Photoshop. Some years ago, I received my certificate in Digital Photography where I took a photoshop class and was tasked to create an album cover as my final project.
I chose to create a cover of the Lonely Hour album by Sam Smith, as he is one of my favorite male singers. For this project, I had to ensure that the title of the album matched whatever background I created.
I had obtained the city image online and here is what I did:
- In the biggest building, you will see a clock signaling time.
- I made a cloud in the shape of a heart and I separated enough to represent a broken heart.
- I ensured to choose a wide angle of a street with no one around to represent that lonely, I am alone, feeling. Some of the titles of the songs are blending in stop signs, trees, and more.
- Lastly, I added light to the light posts as I choose a dusk background to give a semi gloomy day along with the light showing a glimmer of hope.
Overall, this project was meant for fun and was to challenge the creator by not simply adding a photo of the artist for their final project. Please note that Adobe posts monthly Photoshop challenges where you can create cover art for artists with cash prizes. The image of my first day in Italy
The image above was taken on the right (marked original) because it was photographed around 4 PM in the afternoon. As you can see on the right, the image would make you believe I was there at noonish. What makes photoshop different than other applications is that you get to choose what layers you want to highlight, edit, and more while leaving the rest of the image along. I have a third image where I left the sky intact to showcase it was an afternoon photo, but I left indoor lighting as displayed on the left side.
Saving your work via the Cloud or desktop
As Adobe gradually expands its Photoshop software across devices, it’s targeting seamless integration by allowing work to be saved to Adobe’s Cloud. Some of the images I tend to use over and over again are saved in the cloud. The only issue I have noticed with the cloud is that you cannot drag images from the cloud, you have to open them and save them on your desktop.
Should you buy Adobe Photoshop 2020?
Yes, you probably should. Adobe Photoshop CC is the gold standard of photo editors, and if you’re looking to do more than just adjust the contrast and crop of your photos, this has all the tools you need to make your images perfect. Whether you choose Lightroom or Photoshop really depends on what you want to achieve with your images – Photoshop is best for the creation of pictures
