A Traveler’s Love Letter

The purpose of this blog post is to invoke feelings one may associate with love. The blog post seeks to express the love for traveling.

Dear Traveling,

You are my last goodnight and my first good day! – Thank you for being my escape when I have needed you most. I wake up wondering what the day will bring, and at night, I reflect on the amazing day I have had.

Artist and poets write about you – Met you on the beach in Barcelona, I was hopin’ you were lookin’ at me because if you just realize what I just realized, then we’d be perfect for each other, and we’d never find another. We’ll hit the coast on the late night, picture this, the first kiss in the moonlight; a slow dance, cover band playing all night. Maybe we’re perfect strangers, maybe it’s not forever, maybe the night will change us, maybe we’ll stay together, maybe we’ll walk away, or maybe we’ll realize that all we need is a starlit sky and you and me?

You say the word and I’ll go anywhere blindly, I’m a sucker for you! – I have learned to embrace adventure, patience and grace, hope, and humanity.

Kiss me once ’cause you know I had a long night (Oh!), kiss me twice ’cause it’s gonna be alright three times because I have waited my whole life. You make me feel I’m in paradise anywhere. All I want to be, all I want to be is somebody to you. I want something just like this!

That it’s crazy I remember every detail, but I do – It feels so good to be alive, just you and me tonight. Don’t wake me up from this high, what a beautiful life. I heard your heart call mine and then all the stars aligned. Don’t wake me up from this high, what a beautiful life

Whether it is a small village or a large city, you have shown me that I can truly be happy anywhere on earth. You have given me a new appreciation for the one life that I get to live, and you have made it worth all the while. There is not much else that I can say other than thank you for being my lifelong companion and for showing me how beautiful the world can be.

A lifelong learner and traveler
